Art Students – Giacometti Sculptures

Art Students Showcase

ArtistGiacometti

During World War II, he worked on a group of bronze sculpture pieces. His works were championed by some who saw these sad-looking figures as the thin and battered survivors of the death and destruction of World War II, the primal and resilient human body still moving after years of chaos and meaninglessness.

Pupils at Newbridge have developed Giacometti’s work by producing figures showing our own feelings in response to COVID and lockdown.
