Newbridge Achieves School Games Gold Mark Award for 2024/25!

We are delighted to announce that Newbridge School has achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a government-led award scheme, launched in 2012 and facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, which rewards schools for their commitment to the development of competition across school and into the community. We are thrilled to have been recognised for our success.

Our sporting achievements this year include increasing the range of intra- and inter-school competitions, and ensuring PE is accessible to all — with targeted interventions for our least active pupils. We have also introduced an additional Level 2 industry qualification in fitness instructing, aimed at stretching and challenging our most able students and improving outcomes for post-16 progression.

With an increasing number of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport — including the young volunteers, leaders, and officials who made our competitions possible.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfill criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce, and clubs. We are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been recognised and rewarded.

A special thank you to Alex, Tracey, and our local secondary schools for supporting our vision.
