Newbridge School Sports Day – Celebration National Sports Week

On Thursday, 19th June, Newbridge School proudly hosted its annual Sports Day as part of National Sports Week. This year’s theme, “Always Active,” inspired a refreshed approach focused on inclusion, equality, and diversity.

To reflect this, we offered a range of alternative activities designed to engage all pupils. Events included Table Tennis, Boccia, Glow-in-the-Dark Dodgeball, a Fitness Pentathlon, and Archery. These activities encouraged participation from everyone, regardless of ability or experience.

Pupils competed in their house groups—Teme, Severn, and Avon—earning points not only through performance but also by demonstrating our core school values: Respect, Teamwork, and Resilience.

We’re delighted to announce that Teme were this year’s overall winners! However, we want to congratulate all our pupils for their fantastic effort, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Pupil Voice:

“The whole day was fun… earning house points for engaging in the activity made it more competitive and motivating.”
— WC & TG

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success. Let’s continue to stay “Always Active” throughout the year!
